Madison Garrett is a sophomore in Columbia College studying political science. A Brooklyn native, Madison strives to serve those within her New York City community as she is an intern for the Mayor’s Office Community Affairs Unit. In addition to being a student board member, Madison is a print editor for the Undergraduate Law Review and advocate for Black adolescent mental health, with features in Seventeen Magazine, New York 1, and, PIX 11. With passions for social justice and journalism, Madison has received publication in The New York Beacon for her articles on the school-to-prison pipeline, immigration reform, and police brutality. When she is not catching up on the latest legal drama, Madison finds pleasure in exploring new music and finding historical Harlem Renaissance spots in Harlem.
