Aneesah is a junior at Columbia College studying Political Science and concentrating in Business. She is passionate about the intersection of law and economics and hopes to explore this further by pursuing a legal career. This past summer, she interned at Proskauer Rose LLP and will continue working there this Fall as a Pro Bono Legal Intern. She will be supporting and expanding the firm's pro bono initiatives, writing for their blog, and engaging in current pro bono matters. Last summer, she interned at the New York City Council Committee on Women where she conducted research for bills on sexual harassment, maternal mortality, childcare in schools and workplaces, and more. She was also the head researcher for the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) initiative in New York City. She received funding to pursue this internship from the Eric H. Holder Jr. Initiative where she is now Vice-Chair. On campus, she is the Vice-President of the Columbia Pre-Law Society, the Finance Chair for Girl Up, and she's on the Strategy & Operations team of Columbia International Ventures. In her free time, she enjoys painting, going to festivals and concerts, and drinking lots of coffee.
