Senior Associate Director, Eric H. Holder Jr. Initiative
Elizabeth (Beth) Manchester is the senior associate director for the Eric H. Holder Jr. Initiative for Civil and Political Rights at Columbia College. Prior to joining the Holder Initiative, she was a member of the Alumni Relations team at Columbia Engineering. In her role as assistant director, she focused on student-alumni engagement and spearheaded many of the school's signature networking and tradition events. Prior to joining Columbia, Beth worked in the nonprofit sector raising funds for organizations dedicated to providing essential services to underserved youth populations in New York, Cambridge, Mass., and Port Elizabeth, South Africa. She has also been an active court-appointed advocate for young people and families involved in juvenile court cases in her hometown of Montclair, N.J.
Beth is a graduate of Columbia's School of General Studies, where she studied creative writing.
