Sydni Scott graduated from Columbia College with a major in Political Science and a concentration in African American studies. Currently she is pursuing an MPhil at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, after which she intends to enroll in law school. While at Columbia Sydni was inducted into the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society and was selected as a member of the inaugural class of Saltzman Student Scholar Fellowship of the School of International and Public Affairs. To explore international contexts of racial politics, she interned at the Global Sports Mentoring Program, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Atlantic Fellows for Racial Equity. She also competed as a long jumper on the Women’s Track and Field team. During her third year at Columbia, Sydni founded The Amendment Project, a student-led grassroots initiative that seeks to foster discussion of reparative justice in American political discourse and mobilize young people to lobby city councils for reparations resolutions. Sydni loves music and sports and is keen to explore new opportunities at Oxford like singing in college choirs, playing football, and debate societies.
